Frequently asked questions
The site works here but won't open for me. Why?
The problem is on your side of the connection. Try another browser or device, turn off your VPN, clear the browser cache, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or restart your router. Some sites also block whole countries or networks.
What counts as "down"?
We treat a site as down when our server can't connect within a few seconds or the site responds with a 5xx server error. Errors like 403 or 404 mean the server is up, but that page is blocked or missing.
Where is the check run from?
From our checking server in Europe. A site that blocks European visitors may look down from here even though it works elsewhere.
